Foam of the daze

20. November 2017

Not touring anymore !

Objects, figures, artists, music, language and foam
according to the roman by Boris Vian

It´s like a jazz session with quite harmonies and massive sounds. Five artists changing something banal to a marvelous work. The subject is about an attitude towards life of surreal poem, parodic existentialism and the celebration of hedonism. The life has to be more extravagant, delicious and appealing.

„Hipness is not a state of mind, it’s a fact of life.“ (Cannonball Adderley)

Colin and Chick spend their days with jazz, philosophy and amazing dinner. Chick fell in love with Alise to get an existential experience. Colin finds Chloe, who seems to be hired by Duke Ellington. Between the couples is the chef Nicolas. He is witnessing a love story with ups and downs. A water lily is growing in Chloe´s chest, which is taking her breath away…

The production is including five artists with different views and who visited the university of Stuttgart. They are creating together with the direction team of Hendrik Mannes and Antonia Christl an adaptation of the roman by Boris Vians “L’écume des jours”

Frankenstein or The modern Prometheus

17. November 2017

Frankenstein – a hyped up society – a myth of the creative human being – the story of hubris.
Driven by the passion for the experiment, the pleasure of the mutual game, to make the dead matter alive. 4 puppeteer and 2 music artists from three different generations with alchemy, magic and electricity the risky underpinned of the confusion. They amalgamate six artistic approaches on a material that frightens the people in a soft way, since the British author Mary Shelley contrive it in Lake Geneva in the year 1816. The infernal, divine and iridescent music in the laboratory will make your blood boil.

Hanswurst´s Wedding

18. October 2017

Not touring anymore !

Six Munich composers representing different generations and genres have written a ‘singspiel’ in six short scenes based on the Goethe fragment “Hanswursts Hochzeit oder Der Lauf der Welt” (Hanswurst’s Wedding) for the Faust Festival Munich 2018. This short fragment written by a young Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was his first attempt at tackling the Faust myth. It is in the tradition of the bawdy fairground puppet plays to which the puppet theater version of the Faust legend belongs.

The ‘singspiel’ is a project spearheaded by the Tonkünstler München, a society of over 1,200 professional musicians, principally composers, performers and music teachers. The singspiel will be premiered in cooperation with the Münchner Stadtmuseum and be performed in the Museum.

The unifying link between the different compositions that make up the whole work can be found in the action of the puppet play and the composers’ decision to use the same ensemble of singers and instruments for all six pieces. The different interpretations of the material by the six composers promise to make for an intriguing and exciting performance.

Hase Mondphase

15. September 2017

Since time immemorial, the moon has exerted its own fascination on people. He was researched, described, sung about and portrayed. As the next celestial body to Earth, he serves as a navigator but also as a projection surface for desires, dreams and longings. As a Trabant, he directly influences us and our environment. And perhaps it also reflects our own existence and individual location in the world. Who am I? Who would I like to be? Where am I? Where do I want to be?

A hare climbs out of a box and asks, “Am I inside? Am I outside? ”

The hare jumps into the box and it begins to grow, transforming itself into the infinite space stage of the theater. The moon appears, the rabbit looks up at him wistfully and wishes to get to the moon. He finds a path that seems to lead there and follows it. When he wants to jump on the moon, the moon and the hare crash into the depths. The hare founds himself in an unknown landscape.

A journey begins in search of the moon, a path that reveals encounters with different forms and phases of being and a desire that helps the hare to find a place in his own story. As a hare in the moon?
